NDatabase vs. MSSQL for Time Series Data

Jan 15, 2013 at 12:44 PM
We have a ms sql server (2008 R2) with a realtime time series database from production. Now there are about 240 billion processvalues. The performance is really poor now, the database file is to big. We only use aggregatet valies now, because using the raw values ist to slow. Now we want to evaluate other (NoSQL) databases. Anyone having expirience with NDatabase and Time Series Data? What about multiuser access to the database? is it possible to use wcf for this?

Hello, in actual version it is still accessible from one thread. In one of the next releases that will be changed.

Regarding big data files, I think the actual way of storing data in NDatabase could have a problems with really big files (check comments in GC Feature - Issue Tracker). I could recommend you (.net) for such purpose.
